UK artist Goodchild was recently in New York and has just shared this short video of his adventures in the city.

OKER ‘Going Against The Grain’ London Exhibition

StolenSpace is very proud to present ‘Going Against The Grain’ the inaugural solo show by one of the most prolific writers of the London graffiti scene, OKER.

OKER has been painting for over 20 years. His throw-ups were all over South London, and with trains running across the city, he has made an incredible contribution to the London scene, influencing many of the younger generation of writers throughout the years. He is one of the very few graffiti writers in England who can call themselves ‘all city’, having been up in every area of London.

OKER claims he turned to graffiti as a form of self medication in his difficult early teenage years. When he walked along the tracks with other like minds, no one was interested in his personal life, this world was purely about him as a graffiti artist, as ‘OKER’.



After a short spell of living in New York and building relationships with the Kings of New York, he then returned to London bringing NYC's bombing style with him, gaining the respect from artists such as Eine, Barry McGee, KR and Banksy to name a few…



In 2000 he was sentenced for graffiti and in 2013 again for 2 years for painting on trains. This lead him to rethink his practice, ‘Going Against The Grain’ shows not only OKER’s artistic development, but also a development in the way he thinks about his art and an important step in his artistic practice. He can now safely move forward without the worry of being arrested on his opening night. He served his time, and this inaugural solo show will show how far he has come.

"We often talk about New York and how it never holds still... And we've, for a while now wanted to take advantage of the city we both live in. We've been going back and forth about a good corner or a good neighborhood, an interesting train line, simply to focus on and hold still with. Thus, intentionally letting the city come to us, letting the intersections of time and humans, intent and awareness, letting the big show unfold in front of us as a result of holding STILL and just watching for a moment rather than chasing the horizon and hunting light source. 

 When we found out Lenny was painting the Bowery walk it seemed like the perfect time to slow it down and hold still a little, just for a weekend in the fall. Two friends with cameras.

This video was made possible to an amazing group of people, who came together to help us celebrate and pay homage to the Collingwood and Fitzroy area of Melbourne. Our goal was to create one continuous drone shot, captured in one take. The amazing team from Swarm UAV pulled it off.

Chrome & Black: Winter Graffiti Battle, London, UK. THE FINAL ROUND

The final round of Chrome & Black's winter battle saw Chik vs Crept, head to head with an hour to paint the word 'flames' which was given to them 3 minutes before the battle commenced. With limited paint and terrible weather they went at it for a cash prize.

Judged by Kel1st, Terrible T-Kid170 and Zaki Dee, the winner was Crept. Full write up and judges feedback on their blog here.

Bomb The Box - DDS Crew

Bomb The Box, the UK's Zombie and Dyet took over the box outside Shoreditch High Street Station. With depth and colour, their approach to graffiti brought the box to life and a crowd that stood in awe and intrigue at the life art exhibition. As a typically stealth and mysterious way of creative expression, the masked and hooded artists showed off their craft and let the art do the talking.

‘I am just trying to be nice’ is a book about the work of Nug, published as a limited edition first run. This exclusive publication comes with a one of a kind book cover Nug made from a new piece of his work cut to pieces.

Please note: every single copy has a unique cover made by the artist. Amsterdam based design agency UNDOG – notorious for creating unorthodox and challenging visual communications – created a clean, subtle and at the same time an equally rough and raw design for the 64 page book. This book contains the first true overview of Nug’s work: from exhibitions to graffiti pictures, video stills and paintings, it’s all here, all Nug, in all overwhelming intensity.

This release is a collectors item for book lovers, graffiti haters and opinionated people. Nug. Stockholm, Sweden. Nug is a well known name in the graffiti scene. Apart from taking trains and walls on, he’s also created many controversial exhibitions, video’s and paintings. Some define his Works as plain vandalism, others clearly think this is what art is about. These strong opinionated differences even made it into the Swedish parliament and has kept many international art critics included in the debate.
